LanierHarold Wayne Lanier, 71, of Florence, went to be with Jesus on Thursday morning, May 29, 2014, at Keller Hospital. Wayne was born February 6, 1943, at his home in Killen, Alabama. He was a 1963 graduate of Rogers High School and a member of First Baptist Church in Killen. He was a retired ironworker at Reynolds Metals Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Flavil Lanier. He is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Mary Charlene LeMaster Lanier; three sons, Tim Lanier and wife Rebecca, Jim Lanier and wife, Cereta, and Jody Lanier and wife Tara; grandchildren, Maela Lanier, Corey Lanier, Josiah Lanier, Payton Fretwell, Katie Lanier, Andrey Lanier, Sarah Lanier, Laken Fretwell, Kess Lanier, Levi Lanier, and Elizabeth Lanier; brother, Ricky Lanier; sister, Kathy McCluskley and husband, Larry; brother-in-law, Tommy and Becky Bradford and Larry and Jimmie Lou Davis; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, at First Baptist Killen. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. David McKelvey and Rev. Jason Moore officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Corey Lanier, Josiah Lanier, Andrey Lanier, Levi Lanier, Tommy Bradford, Larry Davis, Mike Herston, and Donald Scott.
