Harold Wayne Corter – Obituary

Harold Wayne Corter, 81 of Summertown, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was an avid Western reader. Harold loved to pick blackberries, Bake, and cook. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Harold was a solitary man and “he loved to see you come and loved to see you go.” He was of the Baptist faith with ties to the Barnsville and Anderson Creek communities.

The funeral service for Mr. Corter will be held at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant on Tuesday, December, 20, at 1:00 PM with Bro. Eddie Watson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Anderson Creek Cemetery in Summertown. The family invites friends for a visitation on Monday, December 19, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant.
Pallbearers for the service will be: Timmy Beard, John Robert Daniels, Robby Daniels, Tim Beard, Shaun Mahon, and John Burke. Buford Williamson will act as an honorary pallbearer.

Survivors for Harold include: his children: Kenneth Corter of Laredo, TX; Edith (Robert) Daniels of Columbia; Kim (Tim) Beard of Mt. Pleasant; and Dale (Rosemary) Corter of Ashland City; grandchildren: Brandi Mahon, Ashley Burke, Dexter Daniels, John Robert Daniels, Liz Beard, Timmy Beard, Brittany Beard, Ami Decareau, Billie Wright, Beth Johnson, and Kenny Corter; eight great-grandchildren; siblings: Letha Brock, Dot Glass, and Frank Corter; his wife of many years, Irene Corter Barnett; his faithful best friend and war buddy, Buford Williamson; and his three dogs: Fur Ball, Puppy, and Skippy.

Harold was preceded in death by: his parents, Thomas Wayne Corter and Beulah Mae Reynolds-Corter; siblings: Thomas Corter, Jr., Emma Corter, Nellie Corter, Bob Corter, Calvin Corter, Edith Marie Corter, Christine Pierce, and numerous nieces and nephews.
