Harold-Cole-1421164716Harold Wayne Cole, age 73 of Cherokee, AL, passed away on Monday, January 12th, 2015. His visitation will be Thursday, January 15th, 2015, from 12:00 p.m.-2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Cherokee. The funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Chuck Bradford and Wayne Green officiating. Interment will be in Harris Chapel Cemetery with Military Honors and Masonic Rites.

Harold was a native of Harrisburg, Arkansas. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and retired from law enforcement. Harold was a member of the Cherokee Hunting Club, Shriners Organization, Past Master of Elizabeth Lodge # 215 and Belle Point Lodge #20, Sebastian County and Logan County Sheriff’s Department, Justice of Peace Sebastian County, New Blaire Fire Dept. and County Government and a lifetime member of the D.A.V.

Harold was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Earl Cole and mother, Lena Cole; daughter, Trina Cole; and brother, Gene Cole of Van Buren, AR.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Shirley Cole of Cherokee, AL; daughters, Cynthia Cole O’Toole (Shawn) of Iuka, MS, and Shaeleigh Cole Crandall (Michael) of Cherokee, AL; brothers, Fred Cole (Linda) and Gary Cole both of Pocahontas, AR, and Greg Cole (Lisa) of Cabot, AR; sisters, Marie Brodin (Roy) of Springfield, MO, and Betty Penning (Keith) of Cedar Rapids, IA; grandchildren, Alexis Crandall and Preston O’Toole; mother-in-law, Maggie George; sister-in-law, Betty Cole; and a host of other family members.

Wes Stovall, Harry Stovall, Jr., Greg Patrick, Charlie Lansdell, Mac McCaig, and Paul Michael will serve as pallbearers. Nelson Wallace, Ronnie Nicholson and Douglas Hargett will serve as honorary pallbearers.
