Harold Swinney, age 90, of Russellville, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, July 29, 2026.Harold was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Throughout his life, he found joy in working, bowling, fishing, collecting cards, and trading anything he believed he could turn for a profit. For more than two decades, he owned and operated Harold Swinney’s Used Cars. He was a faithful member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church and held firmly to his belief that Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Spry Memorial Chapel, with the funeral service following at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel. His sons, Bro. Eric Swinney and Anthony Swinney, will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his seven grandsons.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Wynona Swinney; his siblings, Boyd Swinney, Margaret Welborn, Trixy Pennington, Margie Aycock, Wayne Swinney, and Owen Swinney; and a baby sister who passed away at birth.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 55 years, Glenda; his children, Duane (Mandy), Anthony (Mandy), and Eric (Sherri); his grandchildren, Craig (Whitney), Chris (Alana), Abigail Ashley (Phillip), Grant, Clay, Will, Ben, and Joy; his great-grandchildren, Annie, Emberly, Joe, Axell, and Ivy; and his sister, Lona Mauk.
