Harold R. Montgomery, 73, passed away Monday, October 30, 2017, at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, AL. A native of Russellville, he was retired from Telecommunications, a former member of the Russellville Jaycees, and served in the Alabama National Guard, 186th Combat Engineers, Russellville Unit. He enjoyed volunteer maintenance projects at his church with friends.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 3, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, AL. There will be visitation in Russellville at Pinkard Funeral Home on Saturday, November 4, 2017, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. Services will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Jim Headley. Burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will include family and friends.
Mr. Montgomery is survived by his wife Wanda Porter Montgomery; son, Darrin Montgomery; and daughter, Melissa Magie. Survivors also include granddaughter, Brittney Rhodes (Dexter); grandsons, MaClain Montgomery, Anthony Lablanc, Aiden Romero; and great grandson, Carson Rhodes. A brother, Jim Montgomery (Sandy), and sister-in-law, Hilda Montgomery, survive him as well as nephews and other family and friends who are loved.
Preceding him in death were his father and mother, Elmer and Josie Montgomery; brother, Billy Montgomery; sisters, Carolyn and Mary Montgomery; and son-in-law, Geoff Magie.
