Harold Leon Powers, 87, of Elkmont, Alabama, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Athens Health and Rehab Center in Athens, Alabama.
Harold spent his whole life in the Elkmont community and was a member of the Baptist faith. In his free time, Harold enjoyed driving to Cassie’s Café to have breakfast, hanging out with his friends at H&P, gardening and spending time in his workshop. In his younger years, Harold enjoyed playing as well as coaching baseball and fast pitch men’s softball.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kelley Powers and Leona Martin Powers, his wife of 49 years, Joyce Powers, three brothers: Alvin Powers, Calvin Powers, and Mahlon Powers, as well as two sisters, Rachel Appleton and Joyce Daly.
Harold is survived by one son, Scottie (Stacey) Powers, one daughter, Keila Berzett, two grandchildren, Laura (Chris) Barnett and Landon (Makenzie) Clark, as well as six great grandchildren: Makena Griffin, Grant Jones, Caroline Clark, Collyns Clark, Samantha Wilder, and Braiden Wilder.
A visitation for Harold will be held at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home on Monday, January 19, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral service is scheduled for the following day, Tuesday, January 20, 2026, again at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, with service time beginning at 1:00 PM. Mr. Roger Powers will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
