Harold Jensen, age 89, passed away on August 6, 2024. He was a long-time resident of Huntsville and Woodville, Alabama.
He is preceded in death by his wife Frances, his parents Amanda and Herbert Jensen as well as his siblings, Reid Jensen, Merle Jensen, and June Barber.
Mr. Jensen is survived by his sons Paul (Lisa) Jensen and Daniel Jensen of Huntsville, sister-in-law Dottie Jensen, his grandchildren Leslie, Jacob and Caleb, great granddaughter Hala, step grandson Reece, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Jensen was born in Davenport, Iowa. He moved his family from Illinois to Huntsville in 1960. Whereupon he began a work history that spanned some 40 years with such companies as Brown Engineering and IBM, then retiring from Boeing corporation in the 1990s.
Over the years, his creativity and craftmanship showed in his many handyman projects. Among these were construction of a houseboat, crafting a camper from a bread truck, along with restoring and modifying various vehicles.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Scottsboro. He was especially fond of the church family with whom he worshipped and his neighbors who were very kind and thoughtful.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 11th at 2:30 at Latham Cemetery in Jackson County Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity or First United Methodist Church of Scottsboro.
