THE SHOALS-The Colbert county Tourism has issued a list of upcoming events to be held in the area for the end of November through December for you to make your Holiday season sparkle:

November 20, 2021 – Christmas in the Country, LaGrange College Site Park, 1491 LaGrange College Road, Leighton.  Take a walk back in time and experience Christmas of yesteryear. Pioneer log  cabins will be decorated inside and out for self-guided tours. Other activities include Annual Bake Sale, arts and crafts vendors, hay rides, and visits with Santa. Saturday’s free event is 10am – 4pm.

November 27- December 23, 2021 – Winter Art Market, Tennessee Valley Museum of Art, 511 N     Water St, Tuscumbia. 50+ local and regional fine artists, selling works various works such as paintings, pottery, jewelry, baskets, scarves & more. Tennessee Valley Art Museum is offering free admission this year to education, healthcare, and first responder workers as part of our Arts for the Frontline program. 

November 29, 2021 – Fresh Christmas Greenery Demonstrations, Ritz Studio Annex, 111 W 3rd St,

Sheffield. TVAA is hosting a fresh holiday decorating event at the Ritz Studio Annex in downtown Sheffield 6- 8 pm. Guests will have the opportunity to watch demonstrations by Diane Carroll-Rowell of Something Ele’Gant. Tickets ($15) include one drink voucher; refreshments & cash bar available.

December 3, 2021-January 3, 2022 – Shoals Tinsel Trail, Alabama Music Hall of Fame, 617 US Hwy 72W, Tuscumbia. Local businesses and organizations decorate trees in an array of themes. Be sure to vote for your favorite. The best overall tree will have their charity of choice as the recipient of the proceeds. This is a wonderful free family event! Info: ShoalsTinselTrail.com 

December 3 & 4, 2021 – Dinner with Santa at Fizz, Clarion Inn, 4900 Hatch Blvd, Sheffield. Start your holiday season off early by bringing the kids to Fizz for a delicious meal and visit with Santa! The jolly guy will be there from 5-7 pm each night. Info: 256-381-4710

December 3 & 4, 2021 – The Polar Express at the Ritz, Ritz Theatre, 111 W 3rd St, Sheffield. Two       evenings of magic themed around the holiday classic The Polar Express! Starting at 6 pm, you’ll ride a trolley with Santa while enjoying hot cocoa and cookies followed by a viewing of the movie at 7 pm. Tickets ($18) only in advance, limited seating. December 4, 2021 – Christmas Brunch with Dolores Hydock, Clarion Inn, 4900 Hatch Blvd, Sheffield. Enjoy a delicious Christmas brunch with storyteller Dolores Hydock. Tickets are $20 and must be    purchased by November 29. Tickets are available at the Sheffield Public Library. Proceeds benefit the library. Info: 256-386-5633

December 5, 2021 – Shoals Symphony presents Peace, Joy, Love, Norton Auditorium, UNA Campus, Florence.  Shoals Symphony Orchestra’s annual Christmas concert featuring guest vocalist CJ Greer. Show begins at 3 pm. Tickets: shoalssymphony.org 

December 6, 2021—Drive Through Christmas Celebration, Muscle Shoals Public Library, 1918 Avalon Ave, Muscle Shoals. Special appearances by Santa and the Grinch! They will pass out treat bags from 5-6:30pm. (There will not be a posed photo opportunity at this event.) Please enter from Brown Street to avoid backing up traffic on Avalon Avenue. Free event. December 11, 2021 – 11th Annual “Dickens Christmas, Ya’ll” – Downtown Tuscumbia is transformed by this holiday festival reminiscent of Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol. Carriage rides, falling snow, trolley tours, high tea, and music among other activities throughout the day.  Info:  256-383-9797

December 11, 2020 – Christmas at Ivy Green, 300 North Commons W, Tuscumbia.  Beautiful live    holiday decorations adorn the historic birthplace and home of America’s First Lady of Courage,  Helen Keller.  Sponsored by the Council of Local Garden Clubs.  Admission charged, open 8:30 am – 4 pm.  Info: 256-383-4066

December 11, 2021 – The Young Guns of Southern Rock Concert, Alabama Music Hall of Fame, 617

Hwy 72W, Tuscumbia. AMHOF and TKO Presents Magnolia Bayou, Featuring Jive Mother Mary with Special Guests, Alabama’s own Stone Harvest live in concert. Show is at 8pm and tickets ($12) are available on Eventbrite. Info: 256-381-4417

December 13-17, 2021, Christmas at the Ritz Movie Series, Ritz Theatre, 111 W 3rd St, Sheffield.   The Ritz Theatre was originally opened in 1927 as a movie house, and we’re honoring that history with a series of holiday classics this December. Enjoy a different holiday film each night, December 13-17! Each show starts 7 pm. Tickets available in advance- online or at the museum, or get tickets at the door.
