Hannah Marie Wood
of Alabaster, went to be with Jesus Christ on Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the age of 15. She was a 9th grade Honor Student at Shades Mountain Christian School and loved playing in the SMCS Band. Hannah was an avid artist who loved being outdoors with her family. She was an active member of Church of the Highlands and participated in MOTION Student Ministries.
She is survived by her parents, Tony and Debbie Wood; 2 sisters, Emily and Olivia; her grandparents, Jim and Martha Nye of Pelham, Linda and Joe Stanley of Sheffield and James and Mae Wood of Town Creek; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and loving church and school families.
A Memorial Service will be on Monday, November 5, 2012 at 2 PM at Church of the Highlands, Riverchase Campus, 9013 Helena Road, Pelham, with Pastors Keith Lindsey and Blake Lindsey officiating. Graveside service will follow at 3:30 PM at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Shades Mountain Christian School, 2290 Old Tyler Road, Hoover, AL 35226.
