SHEFFIELD & FLORENCE – The Quad-Cities Daily photo tour of selected events at the W.C. Handy Music Festival continued Tuesday evening. On the schedule were 3 venues.

First up was Discount Dan’s in Sheffield. Area favorites, The Wildwood Ruminators put on a great show of their folksy and soulful music repertoire. Indeed the band performed a couple of new tunes which were really good!

Then, over the river in Florence… You had to be there! Led by guitarist, Bill Lyons, the group is called, “The Harry Knuckles Band”, and as far as we know, it was the first time the Quad-Cities Daily had seen this group. Really great Rock and Soul tunes that most all had roots in the Muscle Shoals Sound. Swampette, Judy Hood did an excellent job with the show. The venue was in the Shoals Gold Record Room. Cool temps and some really great tunes! B.T.W., in case some of our readers aren’t aware, Bill is CEO of Lyons H.R.

As the temperatures cooled, back on Montgomery Avenue in Beautiful Downtown Sheffield, The Midnighters did their thing. what a great show! David Johnson, who organized the event, recognized Mayor Ian Sanford and entrepreneurs Laquita and Rodney Logan for their support to make the event possible.
