Hallie Vanessa “Van” Gill – Obituary

hallieA Celebration of Life for Hallie Vanessa “Van” Gill, 57, of Hartselle will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016 at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to the funeral.

Hallie, who was affectionately known as “Van”, was born June 2, 1959 in Hartselle to Betty G. Gill and the late Clayton Robinson. She entered into eternal rest on Sept. 27, 2016 at Decatur Morgan Hospital.

Ms. Gill confessed Christ at a young age and was a faithful and dedicated member of Mt. Pleasant C.M.E. Church in Hartselle. Sis. Gill was an anointed youth leader that loved and drew children to God. She enjoyed cooking and was a phenomenal cook. “Van” was a 1977 graduate of Morgan County High School. She was previously employed as a cook with Copeland Corporation and Summerford Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clayton Robinson and her infant daughter, Cree Pointer.

Hallie leaves to cherish her memory: her mother, Betty G. Gill of Hartselle; sister, Clara (Johnny) Horn of Decatur; brother, Stanley Gill of Bellview, Washington; special aunt, Henrimae Haynes of Hartselle; two nephews, Montez Jackson of Federal Way, Washington and Justin Horn of Decatur; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
