WINSTON COUNTY-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident in Winston County that has taken the life of one person:
“A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5 p.m. Sunday, October 25, has claimed the life of a Haleyville man.
Jared W. Townsend, 26, was critically injured when the 2024 Kia Telluride that he was driving left the roadway, overturned and then struck a tree. Townsend was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was transported to Cullman Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The crash occurred on U.S. 278 near the 52 mile marker, approximately two miles west of Addison, in Winston County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
