H. Wallace Dickinson, age 80 of Homewood, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2016. He was a member of Gardendale Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church for over 50 years. Lt. Dickinson served the City of Homewood Fire Department from June 29, 1959 until Jan. 1, 1995. He also served in the United States Army National Guard for 11 years. Mr. Dickinson is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Jo Dickinson and daughters Vickie (Kenneth) Massengill and Jan Dickinson. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 10th from 10-11:00 a.m. at Ridout’s Valley Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mike Pope and Rev. Keith Murner officiating. Burial will be in Winston Memorial Cemetery in Haleyville, AL. in lieu of flowers memorials in memory of Mr. Dickinson may be made to the Organ Fund at Gardendale Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church.
There will be a graveside service Monday, October 10, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Winston Memorial Cemetery, Haleyville, Alabama.
