H. Ray McDaniel, age 89 of Huntsville, Al. died December 24, 2015 peacefully at his home. Born in Mobile, Alabama, Ray came to Huntsville in 1966. He retired as District Manager of Bellsouth and had been active in the Huntsville business community for the last 50 years. Ray served on The Chamber of Commerce and Industrial Development Boards, Crimestoppers, Salvation Army and Rotary. But his greatest love was serving the Lord at Whitesburg Baptist Church and as a mission volunteer in many foreign countries and in the US.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Brenda Whitt McDaniel; son, David Ray McDaniel; daughters, Karen Ann Wilson and Sonja McCuen McDaniel; grandchildren, Emily Bhika, Randi Wilson, Carly and Garrett McDaniel, Anna Kate, Lily and Jep McCuen; great-granddaughters, Eden, Asha and Zoe Bhika; and brother, Benny McDaniel.
Visitation will be at Whitesburg Baptist Church, South Campus from 1:00 – 3:00 Sunday, December 27 with funeral service immediately following with Dr. Dick Thomassian and Dr. Jimmy Jackson officiating. Private family burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery.
