Guy Redden Stanford, age 83, of Sulligent, AL passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2020 at Generations of Vernon in Vernon, AL. A private family funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at 11:00am from the Otts Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Sulligent City Cemetery. Bro. B.J. Mills to officiate.
Guy was born on May 12, 1936 in Sulligent, AL to the late Lecil Stanford and the late Stella Hawkins. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Sulligent, AL. Guy worked at McCoy’s Manufacturing in Sulligent and Beaverton for 23 years. He spent his Saturdays watching Alabama football and Nascar on Sundays. Guy was an avid fan, there was not a game the Crimson Tide played that he missed. He enjoyed spending time outside and helping people in the community as much as he could. He spent summer days helping people tend to their lawns by doing yard work and mowing for them. Guy also enjoyed going to watch his grandson Ryan play sports and going to Jay’s Country Squire eating a fish plate with his granddaughter, Emilee. He had the biggest heart for everyone he met, but most importantly, his family. His love for his child, grandchildren, and great grandchildren was unconditional.
