Funeral for , 92, of Decatur will be Sunday, June 15, 2014, at 2 p.m. at The Church of God of Prophecy, Hamilton, Miss., with Reverend Jeremy Wallace officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in McDuffie Cemetery. Visitation will be today at 4 p.m. at the church.
Mrs. Pounders died Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at her residence. She was born January 13, 1922, in Franklin County to Waymon Rea Sr. and Mary IcyBelle Jones Rea. She was a member of the Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amon C. Pounders; her parents; three brothers, Onell, Bo and Jr.; two sisters, Lucille and Selmer; one son, Harold Pounders; one granddaughter, Donna Mashburn; and one great-grandson, Cameron C. Kent.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Crider, Laura Winn and Mittie Corbett; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Lonnie Rea; and two sisters, Lona Strawbridge and Bessie Perkins.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandsons.
