Griselda Ann Kelly Moles, 86, of Dahlonega, GA, (formerly of Jasper and long-time resident of Douglasville, GA), passed away on Tuesday, October 25th, 2022.
Griselda grew up in Jasper and attended Curry High School (Class of ’54). She briefly studied at Florence State Teachers College before marrying an Air Force man and starting a family. She was a stay-at-home mother to her three children as they moved around the country from base to base. From the outside, she was a typical military housewife. However, for those who loved and knew her, she was a southern chef, a singer, a Super Mario champion, a trophy winning bowler, a die-hard Atlanta Braves Fan, a voracious reader, and lover of TV procedurals. She especially enjoyed her years as a volunteer at Walker Baptist Medical Center and spending time with her family and loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Grady and Mary Lou “Pearlie” Kelly, brother Jesse Clayton Kelly (Clarice), sister Willodean Phillips (Charles), brothers-in-law John Davis and James Baker, her husband of 63 years, Ferrell Franklin Moles, and daughter Ronda Gale Moles (1956-1959).
She is survived by her sisters, Ella Jurine Davis, and Brenda Nell Baker both of Jasper; and her children, Ronald Franklin Moles (Rita Pope) of Birmingham, AL and Terri Lynn Mountain of Dahlonega, GA. Griselda was a beloved “Granny Mae” to her grandchildren, Jonathan Lee Denny (Lucien) of Pensacola, FL, and Samantha Ann Delgado (Drew Moreno) of Marietta, GA. She was also blessed to be a “GG” to four great-grandchildren, Jonathan Liam Denny, Franklin Tomas Delgado, Samson Luke Denny, and Jaina Lael Denny.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Walker Memory Gardens. Bro. John Gates and Bro. Josh Mayes will officiate.
