Gregory Ray Horton, Sr. age 67 of Winchester passed away Friday, September 3, 2021 at Elk River Health and Rehab. He was born April 14, 1954 in Sewanee to the late James Edward Horton and Lizzy Mae Haney Horton and was employed as a concrete finisher. A Chevy Man, he enjoyed fishing, UT football and NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Sisk Horton; son, Gregory Ray “Mator” Horton, Jr; sisters, Wanda Rogers and Susie Bohanan; brothers, Kenneth Horton, Dave Horton and Bobby Horton; niece, Francie Lynn Westin; nephew, Charlie Paige Horton; and beloved dog, Stewart. He is survived by his children, Chase Horton and Lisa Horton; daughter-in-law, Tamra Gentry; grandchildren, Dalton Hills, Isaac Horton, Trenton Horton, Chasity Ward, Christopher Ward, Jonah Horton, Aaric Taylor and Aaron Gentry; great-grandchildren, Lilly Hills, Summer Hills and Payton Hills; brothers, Charlie Horton and Johnny (Sarah) Horton; brother-in-law, Ronnie Rogers, Sr.; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Wilbourn Owens, Jennifer Horton, Wade Horton, Quentin Horton, Tammy Horton, Brandy McCormick, Amy Hinshaw, Curtis Rogers, Ronnie Rogers, Jr, Faith Rogers, Dawn Wilbourn, Terry Wilbourn, and Roger Wilbourn; a host of great- nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be 1:30-3:30 pm Sunday at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 3:30 pm Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Moore-Cortner Chapel with Pastor Quentin Horton officiating.
