Gregory Owen Scott – Obituary

gregGregory Owen Scott, 43, of Corinth, Mississippi, died Thursday, February 27, 2014, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, MS. Mr. Scott was a member of Asphalt Rock Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping, boating, and fishing, and especially loved Alabama Crimson Tide football. Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, March 1, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Sunday, March 2, at Asphalt Rock Baptist Church, officiated by Bro. Andy Elliott and Bro. Perry Murphy. Interment will follow in Asphalt Rock Cemetery. Pallbearers include Todd Robertson, Tim Robertson, Greg Farris, Tracy Lambert, Bryan Carpenter, and Tate Lancaster. Honorary pallbearers include Ben Massengill, Matthew Black, Josh Scott, Jeremy Scott, Scotty Scott, Ted Lancaster, Woody Woodruff, and Terry Harrison. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Marla Scott of Corinth; his father, Greg Scott (Helen) of Corinth; his mother, Dr. Nita Stegmiller (Dr. Stan Stegmiller) of West Palm Beach, FL; his grandfather, Bro. R. C. Scott of Cherokee, AL; one son, Owen Scott of Corinth; one step-son, Jeremiah Rorie of Corinth; one daughter, Amber Scott of Corinth; one brother, Justin Scott (Lorian) of Hillboro, OR; one step-brother, Michael Grayson Smith of Hillsboro, OR; and one grandchild, Aubree Blair of Corinth. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mildred Weaver Scott, and Owen and Grace Kent Phifer. Memorial contributions may be made to Asphalt Rock Baptist Church.

Please remember in your thoughts, prayers, and deeds this family. This young man was my 1st cousin Marla ( Carpenter) Scott’s spouse.
