Gregory Lavon Jackson age 59 of Athens, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at his residence. Mr. Jackson was born June 19, 1954 in Limestone County to R.L. Jackson and Peggy Putman.
Services for Mr. Jackson are Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at New Life Worship Center at 27290 Thach Road. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens with Donald Clem and Bruce Addison officiating. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Sonjia Jackson; son, Lance Jackson; grandchildren, Bree Jackson, Max Jackson and Karlee Jackson; mother, Peggy Jackson Harrell and husband Robert; sister, Kathey Jackson Gosnell and husband Barry; step-sister, Gail Miller; aunts, Dean Morgan, Brenda Arnold and Barbara Steck; brother-in-law, George “Butch” Fetter; father-in-law, George W. Fetter and wife Katie; several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, R.L. Jackson; brother, Larry Jackson; mother-in-law, Ann B. Fetter; uncle, Billy Wayne Putman.
Pallbearers are Lt. Mark Pelzer, Officer Andy Rickard, Officer Edward Young, James “Bubba” Adams, Butch Fetter and Lee Brooks.
