Funeral service for Gregory Joe Mullins, 65, will be Friday, October 1, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Johnson Chapel UMC with Pastor Matt Looloian officiating, and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, October 1, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Johnson Chapel UMC.
Mr. Mullins died on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at North Alabama Medical Center. He was born in Dallas, Texas on December 28, 1955, to Wiley “Joe” Horton Mullins and Linda Beatrice Godfrey Mullins. He spent most of his youth in Central Arkansas and attended the University of Arkansas where he received his undergraduate and law degrees. His Master of Laws degree in Environmental Law was from George Washington University. Greg worked as an attorney for various governmental agencies over 36 years in Texas, Germany, England, and Pennsylvania. The latter part of his career was with the U.S. Navy in Mechanicsburg, PA.
In addition to his brilliant legal mind, Greg had a quick wit and ability to express himself cleverly. He enjoyed time with his family and friends, history, hiking, and traveling.
He most recently attended Decatur Presbyterian Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Wiley and Linda Mullins, and a brother; Perry Mullins.
