A funeral service will be held at Spry Funeral Home in Russellville, Alabama on August 12th, 2026 at 5pm. We have chosen a non traditional funeral service, visitation is from 5 to 7pm, at 6:30pm we would like to give anyone that has a memory, poem, scripture, or just whatever may be on your heart to say the opportunity to do so. We would like to ask all that can ride your bike, we want to honor Greg with as many bikes as we can, to close the service we will move to the parking for a biker style send off engine rev up. Military honors will be presented to Greg on a later date.
Greg answered the call to serve our country and continued to serve those around him throughout his life in various ways, humor, words of wisdom, laughter, and most of all loving with his whole heart. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all that new him. We will all miss the power of a hug from him, the special rides we got to take with him on bikes, the stern talks, all the sometimes very corny jokes, all the stories from his childhood or military times. Greg was most definitely someone we all looked up too. His love and passion for the wide-open roads, the wind in your face, the sometimes no destination in mind rides, was fierce. He left this earth doing just what he loved riding his motorcycle. He lived life to the fullest and those who knew him knew they had a friend, a brother, and a genuine person in their corner. Thank you for your service, your sacrifice and the legacy of love you leave behind, So in the words of one of his great grandsons, Wynston, Crank her up Pawpaw Weg and keep the throttle open until we meet again…
