Graveside Services for Mr. Gregory Allen Haywood, age 69 of Lineville, will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. at Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverends Raymond Long and Zenus Windsor officiating.
Mr. Haywood was born in Talladega County but had lived for most of his life in Clay. He graduated from Clay County High School, then received the last diploma as an X-ray tech at the School of Radiology at Regional Medical Center in Anniston and had worked for several years as a Radiology Technician Technologist and retired as the Director of Oncology at RMC. He loved spending time outdoors on his tractor, gardening, also enjoyed watching NASCAR, was a member of the Ashland Masonic Lodge # 356 F&AM and since 2012 had been caring for his son Patrick.
Gregory is survived by his daughter, Shelly Hargett (Michael) of Riverside, his son, Pattrick Haywood of Lineville, three grandchildren: Bethany Herrington, Aaron Farrow, Madison Haywood, four great-grandchildren: Maci, Caine, Connor and Darian, his sister, Cathy Adamson of Lineville and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Helen Hardegree Haywood and his wife, Connie Haywood.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 1:30 P.M. until 2:30 P.M.
