John Paul White
Grammy Award-winner and member of the duo The Civil Wars, John Paul White will teach a workshop in the Continuing Education Department at the University of North Alabama beginning this month. The workshop, Surviving the New World in the Music Business, will emphasize navigating the challenges of the new “music business.” White will provide real world, first person examples detailing the amount of hard work, education, networking and luck involved in making music as a profession. In addition, White will speak about observations on past and present trends and how they could signal prosperity in the near future.
Registration for the workshop, Surviving the New World in the Music Business, is currently underway. The workshop will take place Friday, April 11, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., in the lecture hall of the new UNA Academic and Student Commons building. The cost for participation is $40 per person. Interested individuals can contact UNA’s Continuing Education Department at 256-765-4862 to register by phone. Registration is also available online at www.UNA.edu/continuing-studies, then select music.
