Gracie Mozell Ledwell was born in Stevenson, AL on December 31, 1942 and passed peacefully away at her home in Scottsboro, AL on August 21, 2020.
She was a faithful member of Hollywood Baptist Church, where she enjoyed teaching classes. She spent most of her working life as a caregiver and continued as a caregiver to her family. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially fishing. She was a woman of faith and showed God’s love every day through her kindness to all.
She is survived by her mother, Beuna Jernigan, her brother Robert Jernigan, her sister Margaret Hinkle (Roger Steele), her daughters Lisa (Rodney) McCutchen and Lisa (Brad) Healy, her grandchildren; Stephanie Ledwell, Jon (Amanda) McCutchen, Nicole (Keith) Pearson, Colin Ledwell and Kacey Golden and her great grandchildren; Madison Fletcher, Drayden Doss, Jaxon McCutchen, Austin (Savannah) Carroll, Kayla Carroll and Cohen Pearson.
She was preceded in death by her father Roy Jernigan, Her husband, Jessie Kenneth Ledwell, Sr., her daughters Melanie and Kathy, and her son Jessie Kenneth Ledwell, Jr.; her brothers, Andy, Larry, Sammy and Willard Jernigan and her sister Joe Talley.
Visitation will be held at Scottsboro Funeral Home on Monday, August 24th from 5-8pm and on Tuesday, August 25th, from 12pm-2pm with the funeral service being held at 2pm. Rev. Joel Shifflett and Rev. Jon McCutchen will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pace Cemetery in Boxes Cove.
