Gracie Marie Mauldin Grimes, 82, passed away Monday, July 10, 2023, at her son’s home in Walnut. She was born April 30, 1941, in Ripley to Elmer and Grace Floyd Cockrell. She worked as a seamstress for Itawamba Manufacturing in Tremont for several years and also drove a bus. She was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Tremont and enjoyed watching westerns and soap operas.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, at the Wier’s Chapel Cemetery near Ripley with Bro. Scott Pulliam and Manse Pulliam officiating. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Fulton is entrusted with arrangements.

Survivors include her son, Robert Eugene Tigner (Phyllis) of Walnut; a grandson, Levi Tigner (Diamond); a granddaughter, Serenity Lane Tigner; and a number of other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Bobby Gene Tigner in 1979, Tulon Ray Mauldin in 1998, and Abram David Grimes in 2010; her daughter, Brenda Marie Davis; her parents; five brothers, Joe Elmer, Fred, Billy, Gilbert, and Wilbert Cockrell; and three sisters, Eloise Carr, Mable Jean Carr, and Bernice Barnes.

Pallbearers will be Manse Pulliam, Brenden Taylor, Kevin Brooks, Rnadall Burnette, Levi Tigner, and Cody Jones.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Wier’s Chapel Cemetery.
