Grace Simmons of Curry, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on October 1, 2025 at her residence.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home, funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel. Burial will be at Curry Cemetery. Johnny Young and Johnny Franklin will officiate.
She was preceded in death by her Mother-Annie Frye; Father-Walter “Charlie” Frye and Beloved Husband-Thomas Simmons, as well as a host of brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her Brother-JW Frye (Ann); Sisters-JoAnn Frye, Sue Garren and Cathy Phillips. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, great-great nephews and a great-great niece.
Though she had no children of her own she was devoted to nurturing the children of her family and caring for the children and members of her church at Macedonia Baptist and her community. One of her greatest joys was serving others with kindness and compassion. She leaves a legacy of love, selflessness and faithfulness.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers Tracie Weldon and Jessica Brom.
