Gordon W. Gibson, age 88, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Friday, March 08, 2013 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was a native of Madisonville, TN, retired from USDA as a Soil Conservationist, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Lawrenceburg where he served as a deacon. Mr. Gibson served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II as an aviation radioman second class.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Frank and Annie Haun Gibson; and his first wife, Ruby Cunningham Gibson.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 1:00 PM Monday, March 11, 2013 with Jeff Vanlandingham officiating. Interment will follow at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens in Lawrenceburg, TN. Family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
