Gordon Lee Reed, 75, of Jasper, passed away Friday, June 13, 2020, at home. Visitation was held on Monday, June 15, 2020, from noon until 2 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Funeral service followed at 2 p.m. Burial was at Shanghi Cemetery. Preston Headrick officiated. MSGT Gordon Lee Reed was born on January 26, 1944, and grew up in Sayre/ Littleton. After graduating from Corner High School, he joined the Air Force-Air National Guard in 1965 and served with distinction for 35 years before retiring in January of 2000. Gordon married the love of his life, Martha Cupps, in 1967 and spent 52 years as her loving husband until she preceded him in death in December 2019. Their daughter Beth was born in 1968 and quickly became daddy’s girl. Gordon loved traveling the world, especially with his family. He also loved spending time outdoors camping, fly fishing, and deer hunting. Gordon loved good food, laughter, and having a Tallulah’s beer with his nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Reed; parent, Margie Mathews Reed; grandparents, Walter and Ida Mathews. He is survived by his daughter, Beth Reed; special nephew Russell Upton(Renea); and sister, Vicky Reed Parker. Pallbearers will be Russell Upton, Tyler Upton, Ben Rosser, Mark Cupps, David Parker, and Kenny Gunter. Honorary pallbearer is Mike Cupps. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to Folds of Honor at foldsofhonor.org or to Department 13 Tulsa, OK 74182.
