Diane Edmondson , 54 , of Athens , Alabama, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 2, 2021 at Huntsville Hospital. She was surrounded by her mother, children, and Pastor Steve Hargrove . She was born on November 18, 1966 in Perdido , Alabama the daughter of Howard and Elaine Claunch.
Goldy was a 1984 graduate of Ardmore High School, then began to raise her two beautiful children. She dedicated over 34 years working for Domino’s Pizza where she was loved by many of her co-workers and customers. She was an avid cross stitch worker and a lover of all cats.
She was preceded in death by her father, Howard Claunch; brothers, James Flowers and John Claunch; sister, Francis Claunch.
Goldy is survived by her mother, Elaine Claunch; son, Shawn (Rachel) Edmondson; daughter, Erika West; grandchildren, Jericho Davis, Elizabeth Thornton, Peyton Peden, Chloe Walters, Chasity Edmondson, and Paisley Peden; sisters, Nell Rutledge,Lola May Rutledge, Loretta Rutledge, Bernadine Borntrager, and Clara Victoria Rouse; brother, David Flowers. Many nieces and nephews; and her beloved cats Max and Sushi.
The family will hold services for her extended family and friends at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. The visitation will be 4:00 pm till 6:00 pm, with the funeral service immediately following at 6:00 pm.
