Gloria Creasy.jpgGloria Mary Garfall Creasy, 89, of Killen, Alabama, passed away peacefully at her home on February 17, 2026 — the four-year anniversary of the passing of her beloved husband, Gilford G. Creasy.

She was born on October 7, 1936, in Johnstown, New York, to Muriel Kuhlman and Alfred Garfall.

Gloria attended Muhlenberg Hospital School of Nursing and later Teachers College, Columbia University, where she earned her nursing degree. She proudly served her country as an Operating Room nurse in the United States Army, including service in Vietnam and Germany. Following her retirement from military service, she devoted herself to her family as a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughter, Teresa “Terri” Carpenter; her grandson, Randall Seth Yesmont; her granddaughter, Hannah Grace Weeks; her sister, Christina Gail Rodriguez; and extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.

Gloria was known for her strong will, quick wit, and unmistakable personality. In her younger years, she enjoyed gardening, fishing, and camping. Later in life, she developed a love for genealogy, puzzles, and reading. She was an avid fan of Alabama football and Atlanta Braves baseball. She also had a lifelong love of animals, owning many over the years. She held a special place in her heart for her beloved Pomeranian, Evening Star; her granddog dachshund, Mr. Peabody; and her great-granddog Alaskan Malamute, Zima.

A private family service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to your local veterans organization or animal shelter.
