GLORIA STIEFFEL

Gloria Julia Veglia Stieffel, 92 of Trussville, formerly of New Orleans, LA and Cullman, AL passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Compassus Hospice in Birmingham, AL. Mrs. Stieffel was a lifelong resident of New Orleans until retirement when she and Calvin moved to Cullman to be close to their daughters and grandchildren. While in Cullman, she was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar Society. After moving to Trussville, she became a parishioner of Holy Infant of Prague Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Stieffel, daughter, Janice Stieffel, sister, Sr. Eugenie Veglia and brothers: Claude and Ambrose Veglia. Her survivors include daughters: Gwendolyn Stieffel Evans and Ann Stieffel (Nick) Vincent; son, Louis (Leslie) Stieffel; grandchildren: Eddie (Laurie) Evans, Toby (Satoko) Evans, Rachael (Nathan) Haden, Rebecca Evans, Natalie Stieffel, Jessica (Jim) Payne, Michael (Allyson) Vincent, Eric (Brittany) Vincent and Ryan (Rachel) Vincent and 17 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 7, 2018 at Moss Service Funeral Home from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. with a Rosary following at 7:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
