Faye RapeGloria Faye Phillips Rape, age 92, of Dora, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 19, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lige and Maggie Phillips; husband Clarence Rape; brother, L.D. Phillips and her grandchildren, Tammy Rape and Jeri Kay Swindle. Faye is survived by her children, Regina Swindle; Rhonda Bennett (Ronnie), Tim Rape (Delitha), Terry Rape (Dianne) and Melvin Rape (Gail); sisters, Unive Peters, Willodean Myrick and Doris White as well as eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild as well as a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members. Faye was a loving wife and mother. Her greatest joy in life was taking care of her family. She was devoted to all of her family especially her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchild. Faye was a longtime member of New Canaan Baptist Church in Empire. She was blessed with a servant’s heart. She enjoyed cooking and volunteering in the fellowship hall at New Canaan in any way that was needed. Faye was a constant caregiver and loved taking care of others. She was a shining example of Christian love and compassion. Faye was also a fan of Alabama football. She loved deeply and was deeply loved by all who were blessed to know her. Funeral services will be held at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home on Sunday, August 21, 2022. Visitation from 1-2pm, funeral service beginning at 2pm and burial following in New Horizon Memorial Gardens. Bro. Bob Thomason will officiate.
