Gloria Anglyn Barone, 78 of Athens, passed away on Friday, September 26th, 2025, at Cullman Reginal Hospital. Mrs. Barone was born on January 13th, 1947, in Athens, to James Homer Kyle and Emma “Rachel” Blair Kyle.
Mrs. Barone is survived by her cousins Glenyss Thornton Naro and her husband, Ellis, and Dan Jennette and his wife, Susan, residing in Hoover, Alabama.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Eugene A. Barone; and cousin Jimmy Snelson.
Friends and family are invited to gather to pay their respects at the visitation for Mrs. Barone on Thursday, October 2nd, 2025, from 12:00-1:45pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00pm at Roselawn Cemetery, with Jeremy Meetze, officiating. William Driskell and William Matthew Jennette will be acting as pallbearers.
Mrs. Barone was a special lady, who held her faith dear to her heart. She was a member of the Methodist church. In 1974, her father, Homer, wrote a song, “Still Small Voice,” that she cherished. Mrs. Barone will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know and love her.

Mrs. Barone’s legacy of kindness, faith, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
