Glenn Wilkerson, 93, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday, June 7th. Mr. Wilkerson taught public school for 1 ½ school years in Mississippi. He then taught for the Air Force at Kresler Field for 7 years teaching electronic fundamentals and airborne Radar Systems theory of operations to officers and airmen. He later moved to Huntsville and taught in the Army Missile school for two years and eventually transferred to Research and Development Laboratory of Army Missile Command. He was an ordained Deacon at University Baptist Church where he was a department director and Sunday School teacher for Adults.
Survivors include wife, Mary Eddins Wilkerson; son, Keith E. Wilkerson; grandchildren, William L. Wilkerson and Laura E. Dunn; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Bobby B. Wilkerson.
Visitation will be from 11:15 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday, June 11th, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Eddie Hillibrand and Dr. Bobby Burt officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
