Glenn Sledge, 72, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, in Pontotoc, MS. He spent 50 years working as a mechanic for GM and had a deep love for his Liberty Baptist Church family. Glenn enjoyed cheering for the Atlanta Braves, reading his Bible, and watching documentaries.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Liz Sledge; his daughter, Glenda Sledge; his brother, Paul James (Amye); his children, Beth Russell Black (Andy), Emily Russell Faulkner, and Daniel Russell (Maria); 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and his special cousins, Nancy Dinunzio and David Ziton.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Fair James; his father, Dale Sledge and his grandparents, W.E. and Clyde Fair.
A funeral service is set for Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 2PM at Baldwin Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc, with Bro. Scotty Bland and Bro. Harvey Sewell officiating. Visitation will take place from 1PM until the service begins and Tuesday evening 5-7:30PM followed by burial at Oak Forest Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Paul James, Tommy Pennington, Jimmy Pennington, Jimmy Cox, C.W. Moore, Billy Bagwell, Rex Franks, and all the men of Liberty Baptist Church.
