Glenn Max Wood, 90, of Addison entered into rest on April 28, 2015, at home surrounded by his loving family.
Glenn was born on December 31, 1924, in Lawrence County. He attended Speake High School. He proudly served in the United States Army for four years during World War II. Glenn was a member of Upshaw Friendship Baptist Church for 59 years. He was pastor of Upshaw Friendship Baptist Church for 23 years and pastor of Sardis Baptist Church for three years. Glenn worked for Wolverine for 17 years and was a farmer and self-employed for the remainder of his years. He was awarded Pastor Emeritus of Upshaw Friendship Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held today, April 30, 2015, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Upshaw Friendship Baptist Church in Addison, where services will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Brother Tim Graham and Brother Donnie Carroll will officiate.
