Glenn (Flash) Bevis, age 83, passed away on June 3, 2025 at his home. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a friend to everyone. Glenn Bevis retired after 32 years of dedicated service with BellSouth Telephone Company. During those years, he also pursued his passion for photography through his business, “Flash Photography,” capturing weddings and local graduates with care and creativity. After retiring, Glenn continued his love for photography by documenting the vibrant music scene in the Muscle Shoals area, preserving memories of the many talented musicians he admired.
A musician himself, Glenn cherished his time on stage performing with numerous local bands. His own band, “Garage Therapy,” brought together fellow musicians every Saturday at his home—an open invitation to anyone who shared his love for music and camaraderie.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, Brown and Ouida Nichols Bevis; his first wife, Eileen Bevis; his brother, John Bevis; and his great-grandson, Nolan Turner.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Ray Bevis; his brother, Wayne Smith of Prattville, AL; his children, Mark Bevis (Ella) and Michelle Tice (Kevin), both of Florence, AL; his stepchildren, David Ray Carter (Suzanne) and Amy Bynum, both of Huntingdon, TN; his bonus son, Kevin Ross (Kim) of Louisville, TN; and his grandchildren: Ben Bevis, Web Bevis, Katherine Jeter (Jay), Mary Alan Abernathy (Adam), Jesse Turner, Khrystian Craven (Mark), Nikolas Bynum (Kaitlyn), Justin Ross (Amber), Alex Ross, Aly Carter (Logan), Sam James, Hudson James, Lauren Roberts, and Rebecca Roberts.
He also leaves behind ten great-grandchildren, Ella Rae Turner, Luke Ryan Bevis, Mary Glenn Jeter, James Jeter, Walt Abernathy, George Abernathy, Noelle Farley, Margo Craven, Lily Ross, Alyson Ross and two more great-grandchildren expected to arrive later this year.
A celebration of Glenn’s life will be held at Underwood Baptist Church on June 21st, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m.
