Glenda Ramsey, aged 85, of Athens, passed away on Thursday, January 8th, 2026, at Athens Limestone Hospital. Born on January 22nd, 1940, in Ft. Worth, Texas, she was the daughter of Robert and Pauline Payne George.
Mrs. Ramsey is survived by her devoted husband, Ellis Ramsey. Together, they built a loving family that includes their children: Brian Ramsey (Andrea), Stephen Ramsey (Mary Jo), Paula Eaton (Tim), and Jessica Scott (Mike). Her legacy continues through her six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride. She is also survived by her sister, Janie Davis.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Pauline George, her sister Joyce Nelson, and her brother Robert William George, II. She cherished her family deeply and will be remembered for her unwavering love and kindness.
A visitation for friends and family to pay their respects will be held on Monday, January 12th, 2026, from 1:00 to 1:45 pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, officiated by Jeremy Meetze. Mrs. Ramsey will be laid to rest at Thatch-Mann Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Mike Scott, Tim Eaton, Tyler Eaton, Conner McKinney, Bryce Scott, and Cody Haney.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Breast Cancer Society. Glenda Ramsey will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
