Glenda Lee Lemmons, 78, of Springfield, TN, went home to be with the Lord on June 16, 2026, at her home in Adams, TN. She leaves behind a legacy that her family will carry forward. She dedicated her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. A life built on love, anchored in hard work, honesty, and sacrifice for her family, that is her greatest accomplishment.
For many years, Glenda worked for Robertson Co. Schools and several nursing facilities in the Springfield area. Faith in Jesus Christ was a steady part of Glenda’s life. She found strength in the gospel and maintained a personal devotion that was steady, humble, and sincere.
She was born on July 26, 1948, to the late Robert Lee Henderson and Bertie Mae Henderson-McEwing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lisa Bilyeu Rawls and son-in-law, Phillip Rawls, as well as her brother Paul McEwing, sister Tonya McEwing Bryant and stepfather Paul McEwing, Sr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Gary Lemmons, Sr., her son, Gary Lemmons, Jr. (Rick Castle) and grandchildren, Tiffany Morris (Justin) and Brent Rawls (Jessica); and 7 great-grandchildren: Devin, Destiny, Kaylee and Ryleigh Ann Morris, Jason, Jacob and Brooklynn Rawls. She was excited and eagerly anticipating the arrival of her first great-great-grandson, Miles Morris. Glenda is also remembered by many extended family members and friends who will deeply miss her.
The family will receive friends from 11am until the service begins at 1pm on June 26, 2026, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield.
