Mrs. McMahon died October 20, 2022 at her residence. She was born September 15, 1946 in Hampton, Virginia to John Wesley and Gladys Ruth Holladay. She lived many places over the years but settled down in Decatur, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Russell Glenn McMahon, brother, Rodger Holladay.
Mrs. McMahon is survived by her daughter, Anna Lorraine McMahon Hinton; son, John McMahon; sister, Ann Ward; and several grandchildren.
Glenda was a lover but not afraid to fight. In her early years she was a teacher. She raised her two children on her own after her husband passed at a young age. She the later in life helped raise her two granddaughters and great grandson. When she wasn’t being mother and grandmother, she would be down in the dirt gardening both at her home and at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a regular reader both in her book club and any moment she had some time. If she wasn’t reading, she was playing bridge with her group of friends.
Cultivate a peaceful atmosphere by regularly telling people you’re in a relationship with why you appreciate them.
Glenda Holladay McMahon
