Funeral Services for Mrs. Glenda Gail Schoggins, age 82 of Ashland, will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at the Ashland City Cemetery.
Mrs. Schoggins passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021 at the Clay County Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Clay County, and worked for over 30 years as a seamstress at Higgins. She then attended and graduated from Central Alabama Community College with her Cosmetology degree and worked as a beautician for 10 to 15 years, working alongside Anita Adams at Helens Beauty Shop. When she wasn’t working, she liked to do needlepoint, she made clothes for her children when they were younger, and enjoyed having beautiful flowers around her home. Mrs. Schoggins also enjoyed cooking, making cakes and hot pickles for her family, and she loved to go camping and fishing with her husband Bobby. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was a member of Liberty Hill United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Schoggins is survived by one daughter: Monette Lambert (Ray) of delta; three sons: Robert Schoggins (Kim), Doug Schoggins (Lisa), and Jeff Schoggins (Barbara), all of Ashland; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Susie Carr (Terrell) of Ashland; her fur baby, Bella, and a large extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Johnny Madison Brooks and Martha Elizabeth McConatha Brooks; her husband, Bobby J. Schoggins; and one infant son, Rodney Keith Schoggins.
Active Pallbearers will be Joe Schoggins, Adam Schoggins, Madison Schoggins, Michael Lambert, Matt Tyson, and Triston Morris.
Her visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and from 8:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday.
