Glenda Balentine Martin, 74, passed away Jan. 24, 2016, at ECM Hospital after an extended illness. Glenda was born Jan. 31, 1941, in Florence and was a member of the church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Quinton and Lorene Balentine.
She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Clayton Martin; son, Brett Martin (Penny); daughter, Alison Stanfield (David); brother, Terry Balentine (Mylene); and precious grandsons, Austin and Caleb Stanfield and Tyler Rhodes.
Glenda graduated from Central High School and Nashville General Hospital School of Nursing. She enjoyed a long career as an RN at Nashville General Hospital, ECM Hospital, Mitchell Hollingsworth and the Lauderdale County Health Department.
Services will be held at the old Macedonia Church of Christ on Wednesday, Jan. 27. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the service immediately following, officiated by Phillip Skipworth and Nolan Burns. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Austin and Caleb Stanfield, Tyler Rhodes and nephews, Jeb and Josh Balentine and Tristin and Dustin Martin.
