Glenda Amelia Aycock Long passed peacefully from this life on March 22, 2026.
Over the years, Glenda enjoyed a meaningful and accomplished career, working with the FBI in Washington, D.C., Teledyne Brown Engineering, and Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. She later worked alongside her husband, Dan, as co-owner of Fisherman’s Resort and Long’s Antique Mall in Elgin, Alabama.
Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Lillian Aycock; her in-laws, Dewey and L.E. Long; her grandparents, Olly and Bessie Aycock and John A. and Ethel Alsbrooks; her twin sister, Brenda Long; sister, Diane Smith; her brother David Aycock; and the love of her life, her husband, Dan Long, who passed in October 2025.
She is survived by her only child, Dana Long Terry; her son-in-law, Keith; her granddaughter, Lauren Grace Feuillard (Robert); her great-granddaughter, Lorrie Clayton Feuillard; and her sister, Peggy Martin (Jimmy).
In keeping with Glenda’s wishes, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
Glenda asked that her family, church family, and friends to know how deeply she cherished the many wonderful memories she shared throughout her life. She leaves them with this message: thank you for the love, laughter, and the good times―and she will see you again in Heaven.
