Glenda Allen Goldfinger passed peacefully on May 17, 2023, at the age of 71 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.

Her quick wit and sense of humor were contagious to everyone she met. Glenda loved spending time in the kitchen, creating delicious meals for friends and family.

Her art adorns the homes of many, carrying on her creativity and skill. Glenda enjoyed relaxing with her sweet pup Daisy, who was even able to visit her before she passed.

Glenda received her bachelor’s degree at the University of Alabama and she then went on to receive her Master’s Degree.

She began her teaching career as a Special Education teacher at Huntsville High, retiring in 2015.

She genuinely loved her students and poured into their lives for decades — leaving a lasting impact.

One of her most treasured gifts was being a Mimi to her grandson Jackson.

She is survived by her sister, Cheryl Baird (Robert); two children, Taylor Dickens (Jon), and Russell Goldfinger (Hannah); and her grandson, Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, Glenda would be honored by a donation to Merrimack Hall (https://merrimackhall.com/donate-online/) or a charity of your choice.

A service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Huntsville on Sunday, May 21, at 3 p.m. with a visitation preceding it at 2 p.m.
