Gladys was born in Jackson County, Alabama to Fletcher Flippo and Pearl Patterson Flippo. In 1942 she married James “Jim” T. Mullis with whom she raised two children.
A loving mother and doting grandmother who was strong in her faith and, as a long-time member of Faith Chapel, where she always expressed sincere interest in people, she had many friends and endeared herself to the church members. Gladys spent many years as a volunteer administrative assistant to the Faith Chapel staff.
She was a long-time representative for Viviane Woodard beauty products and met many who became lifelong friends. In her retirement, she was passionate about her love for roses and greatly enjoyed providing bouquets to friends and neighbors.
Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Mullis, and son, Mike Mullis. She is survived by her son, Tom Mullis (Sally); grandchildren, Casey Mullis Aldridge (Dan), Brian Mullis (Lisa) and Josh Mullis (Christy); and many great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
