Gladye Stanfield Derryberry passed away Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Hospice Ministries in Jackson, MS. She was born September 19, 1912 at Ramer, TN, the daughter of Arlie J. and Virgie Morrow Stanfield.
She retired from the Ramer Post Office in 1980 after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Antioch church of Christ until moving to Clinton, MS in 1993. She attended services faithfully in Clinton until she became ill 10 days before her death.
She is survived by her only child, Anne D. Shelton (husband Robert) of Clinton, MS; three grandchildren, Scott Shelton (wife Cathy) of Birmingham, AL, Molly Shelton Brown (husband Charlie) of Brandon, MS, and Chuck Shelton of Clinton, MS; three great granddaughters, Keagan and Olivia Shelton, and Amanda Brown, all of whom she loved very much; an aunt, Evelyn Bennett of Memphis, TN; host of cousins whom she cared for deeply.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Derryberry was preceded by her husband, Lucian M. Derryberry in 1953; a brother, Grady Stanfield.
