Mrs. Grissom was born on May 10, 1936, in Cherokee, AL, to the late Floyd and Mayme LeMay LeFan. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Joe LeFan.

She leaves behind her husband, Lawrence “Duck” Grissom; sons, Steve Grissom (Sherry), Mike Grissom; daughter, Prissy Robbins (Rick). She was “Granny” to Shannon Grissom Rickard (Bart) and Seth Bryant Grissom and great-granddaughter, Audrey Kate Rickard. She is also survived by a sister, Frances Sherrod; brothers Gary and Terry LeFan.

Mrs. Grissom was a member of Frankfort Road Church of Christ. Ginger showed her faith by her works. She began her working career at South Central Bell and retired as secretary of New Bethel School in 1998. She was a wonderful southern cook and everyone especially enjoyed eating vegetables from their garden. Among her hobbies were planting and weeding her flower gardens, working crossword puzzles, and reading. Ginger loved Christmas and the spirit of Santa Clause. “Jinx” loved to shop, and sending cards to friends and family brought her great enjoyment.

Mrs. Grissom’s family is indebted to Southern Care Hospice for their loving care and kindness, especially Sara Rogers, Fran Williams, Misty Wilson, and Tom Wood. We also thank Margie Reed, who began the journey with us, Tammy Peden, and we were blessed in the end with the assistance of a special caregiver, Barbara Mitchell.
