Ginger Bivens Timms, 58, died Thursday, May 30, 2023 at Sanctuary Hospice House after battling cancer. Ginger was born in Amory on August 2, 1964 to the late Wade Bivens and Dora Carter Bivens. She grew up in the West Jackson Street Baptist Church and was a 1982 graduate of Tupelo High School. Ginger was a beautician for thirty years. Her hobbies included painting and interior decorating and watching horror and investigative movies. She especially enjoyed being with her family and grandkids.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3 PM Friday, June 2, 2023 in the Sadie M. Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Bro. Ben Raper officiating. Visitation will be from 1 PM until service time at 3 pm. Burial will follow at Tupelo Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Drew Bland, Tim Sudduth, Taylor Bland, Jesse Dallas, Tyler Jones, Carter Jones, Riley Dallas, and Jonathon Mitchell. Ginger is survived by her mother, Dora Bivens of Tupelo; her daughters, Lexie Timms and Abby Timms, and son, Drew Bland (Keisha); grandson Taylor Bland, and granddaughter Sophie Bland; sisters Tina Bivens, Christi Sudduth (Tim), and Niki Mitchell (Jonathan); and several nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
She was preceded in death by her father, Wade Bivens, who died Sept. 24, 2014 and her grandparents.
