Gevin Patrick Kenney, 56, of Cherokee, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026. Visitation will be on Friday, February 13, from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Father Benny Karimalikkal officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Gevin was a member of the Catholic faith. He was everyone’s friend and was always happy. An avid Entomologist, he was a member of the Friends of the University of California at Riverside Entomology Research Museum. Gevin was a Consumer Safety Inspector with the USDA, stationed in Ashland, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Tapp Brown; father, Eugene Patrick Kenney; stepfather, William R. Brown; and grandparents, Glenn Tapp and Twala Tapp.
Gevin is survived by his siblings, Gina Seaman (Tony Claud), Garrick Kenney (Trina), and John Robert Brown; nieces and nephews, Katja Smith, Tabatha Mazzei, Sarah Seaman, Kelly Kenney, Andrew Kenney, Chris Kenney, Aurora Brown, and Saygan Nichols; great-nieces, Keira Smith and Audrey Smith; and best friends, Roger Burke and Doug Yanega.
Pallbearers will be Garrick Kenney, Andrew Kenney, Luke Mazzei, Tony Claud, Andy Woods, and Chris Kenney.
